Tech 21 Q Strip Vs Empress Paraeq

Empress effects paraeq w/ boost. Usually very quiet, not a lot more circuitry than any other pedal.

(tech 21 q\strip, empress paraeq, jackson bloom, or something else)?.

Tech 21 q strip vs empress paraeq. My hope is that the empress will give me that extra 1% that the para di does not. I have 2 and they are great at what they do. The tech 21 para di works great because it is a versatile eq, has a sansamp that can be blended in, and a built in di.

It gives users unmatched versatility and the sheer quality of sound will transform your tone and change what you thought possible with a simple eq pedal. The empress and tech 21 are naturally buffered so you don't need a separate one. The empress paraeq pedal is the ultimate guitar eq.

But everybody needs an eq pedal, in my revised world order. An empress paraeq or a tech 21 nyc q/strip? They aren't, however, surgical, like a true parametric.

Paraeq here's a three band fully parametric utility parametric eq. Vintage gear is really starting to make a comeback these days. Tech 21 q/strip would get my vote.

But i keep hearing how excellent the empress paraeq is. My previous target was the empress paraeq (i have a ton of empress effects, they are as good at it gets). The tube/valve preamp stage in the milkman imparts much of the warmth and tonal goodness of a tube/valve amp.

Tech 21 are best known for their analogue guitar products, but in the q\strip, it seems they’ve turned their focus to recreating, in pedal format, that part of a vintage console’s signal path that was often pressed into service for the direct recording of both guitars and basses back in the day. The tech 21 q/strip opened up my ears. If you could borrow a tech 21 q/strip or empress paraeq, do so and see if it works before buying one.

Fixed high and low bands, two bands of parametric mid, xlr and parallel outputs, plus switchable hi/lo filters, pad, and impedance matching for studio use. Looks like it comes close to being a studio board channel strip in a pedal. Hi all, i have my eye on both of these as a solution to my eq issue (amp only has one band of mid eq).

3 bands with full control over frequency/q/gain (vs the empress with 3 choices for q. The design of the incredible eq pedal is based on the eq, preamp sections and channel strips of the world’s best mixing/recording consoles. Honestly, the tech 21 para di is quite nice.

There is the wampler equator, although not a true parametric does offer the varied frequencies, just no q. Empress paraeq 10 vote(s) 58.8% darkglass alpha omega ultra 4 vote(s) 23.5% wait until the release of microtubes x 3 vote(s). A good buffer between your guitar and the amp helps heaps, if you do not want an eq pedal.

My guitar is an elferink, i've tweaked the pickup in many different ways raising flattening the pole, lowering the low strings raising the highs, but i still feel the guitar is very bassy and if i'm lowering the bass strings too much the result. It's a shame the empress paraeq has been discontinued. My question is, if i’m just using it for eq is the q strip overkill?.

The tech 21 q/strip pedal is modelled on the recording console eqs used in the 60s and 70s and absolutely nails that warm, full tone.
